On October 4th, the editor learned from overseas platforms that the ferry in Stockholm will also be updated, and the ferry loaded with electricity is about to “take off”! Diesel oil, which is more pollutional, is about to be replaced by environmentally friendly energy – lithium battery (N-methylpyrrolidone solution is used in the raw material).

• The Swedish capital currently relies on more than 60 one-foot-long diesel ferries to provide public transport to the 2.4 million people living in and the people surrounded Stockholm. The city consists of 14 islands in the vast Baltic Sea archipelago.
• The new ferry is expected to be the fastest electric passenger ship in the world, designed by Swedish startup Candela. They plan to launch the first 30-seater vessel in November, before starting commercial operations in 2023 as part of Stockholm’s public transport.

What other industries can lithium batteries which contained NMP (1-Methyl-2-pyrrolidinone) solution in their raw materials be used in?

According to the editor’s understanding, currently mobile solar panels, wind energy installations, aerospace and other equipment are all applied with new energy lithium batteries (and possibly other rechargeable batteries).
